Now in year 15 as the head coach at Kentucky, John Calipari’s impact on the NBA continues to stand out.

On Tuesday, the NBA announced the top 15 selling player jerseys through the first half of the 2023-24 season. Of those 15, three of them were former Wildcats. Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns came in 7th, Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers came in 9th, and De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings just snuck onto the list at 15th.

Both Maxey and Fox made their debuts on the most popular jersey list. Booker has been on the list before, most recently as the seventh-highest-selling jersey in the second half of the 2022-23 season.

Booker’s popularity across the NBA has been shining for several years now. From a new signature shoe with Nike to hanging out with Drake to simply being a very aesthetically pleasing basketball player to watch, fans are drawn to the three-time All-Star. Dropping 70 points in just his second NBA season certainly didn’t hurt his popularity, either.

Now 27, Booker continues to light it up on the hardwood. He’s currently averaging a career-high 28.4 points to go along with 4.9 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game. Playing alongside all-time great Kevin Durant, who ranked one spot behind Booker in jersey sales at eighth, only boosts both of their popularity within the league. And oh yeah, Booker just poured in 62 points against the Indiana Pacers last week. He’s fun to watch.

As for Maxey and Fox, the young guards boast cheerful personalities and constant smiles. They’re just likable guys.

Maxey especially, as he’s quickly become known as one of the happiest dudes in the NBA in just his fourth season. He’s also incredibly talented (averaging 25.7 points and 6.6 assists per game) on a 76ers squad that is consistently near the top of the Eastern Conference. Even more impressive? Maxey’s teammate, reigning MVP Joel Embiid, came in a few spots behind the former Wildcat with the 12th-most sold jersey.

Fox is another easygoing player with a game that is similar to Maxey’s in the fact that they both use speed and agility to break down their opponents. Last season, Fox helped lead the Sacramento Kings to its first postseason berth since the 2005-06 campaign while also making his first All-Star Game appearance. Now in year seven, he’s currently averaging a career-high 27.5 points in addition to 4.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game for the Kings, which rank fifth in the Western Confernce.
