5-star SG Caleb Holt reschedules official visit with Kentucky

A top Kentucky recruiting target has pushed back his official visit by one week.
Class of 2026 five-star prospect Caleb Holt has moved his trip to Lexington from the weekend of Sept. 5-7 to the weekend of Sept. 12-14. Jacob Polacheck of KSR+ confirmed the news of Holt’s rescheduled OV, which was first reported by Wyatt Huff. Holt also has official visits set with Alabama (Oct. 3-5) and Auburn (Oct. 10-12).
“Coach (Mark) Pope, he was my on-court coach at USA (training camp),” Holt told KSR last week at the adidas 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill, SC. “I got to play for him, and it was actually fun, he let me rock out. He was like, that’s how it’s gonna be at Kentucky. Kentucky is definitely in the mix, high up. I mess with Mark Pope and everything.”
Polacheck reports that the weekend of Sept. 12-14 works better for Holt and his family than the weekend of Sept. 5-7.
The likes of Houston, Baylor, Providence, Ole Miss, and Kansas are also regularly in Holt’s ear in an attempt to get him on campus for visits. The Alabama native has said a commitment decision could come in January or February after he has a chance to see his top teams play during the 2025-26 season. Ole Miss also hosted him for an OV back in the spring.

At the adidas 3SSB Championships, Holt helped lead Game Elite to the title game victory over D1 Minnesota. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard averaged 18.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and two steals per outing across five games played in Rock Hill. He views himself in the mold of Kentucky’s Otega Oweh.
“I like Otega,” Holt said. “He’s a three-level scorer. He can hit the three, he can hit the mid-range. The mid-range is his bread and butter, and he can get to the rim. And he’s pretty big. I’m a bigger guard, so I see myself like that.”
Holt is considered the No. 5 overall rising high school senior in the country by the Rivals Industry Ranking.
