Another positive coronavirus test postpones this weekend's Cardinals-Cubs series

Major League Baseball could sure use a "Bubble" concept right about now.
Earlier on Friday, it was reported that this weekend's three-game series between the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs would be postponed after another Cardinals player tested positive for the coronavirus. It was later confirmed by the league.

In total, the Cardinals now have had eight players test positive for the virus since the first batch of positive tests were announced last week. Game one of the series was scheduled for Friday and set to continue through Saturday and Sunday. The Cardinals have not played a game since July 29, when it was initially announced that seven players and as many as 13 people within the organization tested positive for COVID-19.
St. Louis has already been forced to add three doubleheaders against the Milwaukee Brewers to make up games that were postponed last week. Before this weekend's postponement, the Cardinals were looking at having to play 55 games in 52 days, now they'll have to make up even more games in the future, likely with more doubleheaders, and with only 49 days to do so.
