(via Oscar Combs) Anthony Davis was named AP Player of the Year this morning, making him the first player in UK's storied history to win the award. Davis received 43 of the 65 votes to beat out Thomas Robinson (20) and Draymond Green (2). He made sure to thank his teammates when he accepted his prize; it wouldn't be possible without them. He said, "Thanks to Marquis for throwing me all those lobs. Thanks to the guards for getting beat off the dribble so I can block those shots." (H/T Kyle Tucker) Davis joins Kevin Durant as the only two freshmen to ever win Player of the Year honors from the Associated Press. Go Cats.
