Are you worried about 2012?

With the NBA Draft now firmly planted in the rearview mirror, these slow summer months now become essentially filled with one thing:  recruiting.  Over the course of the next several weeks, summer recruiting events fill the calendar and Kentucky's coaches will spread out across the country in an effort to secure top talent for the future.  Here at KSR, one question seems to be lingering as we turn the corner and look toward the future. Should we be worried about 2012? The question seems to be popping up more frequently as the weeks pass and Kentucky has only Ryan Harrow in hand and a number of prospects - none of whom seem to have the Cats in the driver's seat - on the radar.  Assuming the NBA does not change the age limit in their new collective bargaining agreement, Kentucky will likely have their top six roster spots open and seven spots overall.  If there was ever a year to load up and load up early, this is it.  But outside of Ryan Harrow, it's been quiet.  So is that cause for concern? Probably not.  Aside from the simple "In Cal We Trust" mantra that we're all getting tattooed on our inner biceps and programmed into that chip in our brain, we're still pretty early in the process.  The Cats were spoiled last year by Marquis Teague and Michael Gilchrist's decisions being made in April, but history says those are somewhat of an anomaly.  Most top players are just getting into the groove in terms of recruiting and will start to sort things out this summer and throughout Madness trips and official visits.  What Kentucky pulled off last year with Teague and Gilchrist in April and Anthony Davis and Kyle Wiltjer in August wasn't just impressive in terms of talent, it was a win in terms of timeline.  Luring a verbal from a top guy before the end of his junior year is impressive.  Getting commitments from four of the top 25 players before their senior year starts is just stupid.  So maybe we're just spoiled.  Maybe we're just as crazy as Cal says we are.  Whatever it is, it doesn't seem like it's time to panic yet.  After all, it's not like Rick Pitino is our coach.
