Auburn freshman Sharife Cooper declared eligible by the NCAA

AU Athletics
Auburn star freshman Sharife Cooper is making his collegiate debut this afternoon.
After sitting out the team’s first eight games of the season and missing 72 days of practice due to an investigation into the former five-star guard’s eligibility, the NCAA has officially declared Cooper to play, effective immediately.
The school announced this morning that Cooper will play today against in-state rival Alabama.
“Sharife Cooper has been deemed eligible by the NCAA,” Auburn said in a statement. “He will play Saturday vs. Alabama.”

Cooper, a consensus five-star guard in the class of 2020 and top-25 prospect, chose Auburn over offers from Kentucky, Florida, Tennessee and Alabama, among numerous others.
The game tipped off at 12 p.m. ET and can be found on ESPN2.
As for when Kentucky fans will get to see Cooper in action, the Wildcats are set to travel to Auburn to take on the Tigers one week from today.
