Auburn star guard Tahaad Pettiford arrested on DUI charge

Tahaad Pettiford, Auburn’s star point guard, was arrested early Saturday morning on a DUI charge in Lee County, AL.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office recent arrests database, Pettiford, 19, was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. He was booked at 12:00 a.m. ET before being released on a $1,000 bond.
Pettiford is a rising sophomore for the Tigers, having help lead Auburn to the Final Four this past season as a true freshman. He averaged 11.6 points and three assists in 22.9 minutes per game on shooting splits of 42.1/36.6/80.4 as Bruce Pearl‘s sixth man. The New Jersey native went through the NBA Draft Combine earlier this summer before electing to return to college. Pettiford is the only returning player from last season’s Auburn team.
