Avery Williamson’s 2019 season ended before it ever began.

In a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons, the former Kentucky linebacker took an unexpected low hit. Williamson immediately knew something was wrong. A year after only missing five defensive snaps for the New York Jets, a torn ACL would sideline him for the entire season.

It’s been more than twelve months since that fateful hit. Now he cannot wait to get back onto the field.

“I’m super excited, excited for my return,” he said recently. “My knee’s been responding well. I’m getting out there making plays. It’s super fun. I’m just glad to be back out there on the field.”
