John Calipari is busy making the media rounds as part of his new book promotion tour and yesterday he made a cringeworthy appearance on
Imus In The Morning with Don Imus.
Now I've never listened to Imus (although I do remember his comments about the Rutgers women's basketball team) so I don't know if he is normally as crazy as he sounded while talking to Coach Cal, but it was quite painful to hear.
I did, however, get a good laugh out of one comment in particular when the radio legend interrupted Cal as Cal was going on one of his standard, textbook rants about the program.
Imus said, "Well as you know, Rick Pitino at Louisville, he gets his kids, you know, cars and hookers and money. What do you give them at Kentucky?"
Coach Cal laughed, briefly, then said, "WOW... Wow... Let's just get to the point, right?"
