Bad News for Our Man Charles Ramsey

We at KSR love Charles Ramsey. We drove to Floyd County to interview him on the show, met him and found him completely charming and generally were enthralled with the story of his emergence in Cleveland. But as I said throughout, I feared that things wouldn't end as well as we all hoped. Today a British newspaper updates us on Ramsey's whereabouts and the story is worth reading, even though the news isn't great. Ramsey is currently homeless and jobless. In the immediate aftermath of the incident, he made some money, but has apparently blown it. He can't find a job because of his celebrity (owners of restaurants consider it a distraction), but those around him all think he is rich and thus are less inclined to be helpful. In short, he says his life is difficult. Then there is also the question of whether he actually was the first one to the house, a claim that some of his neighbors are disputing. I of course have no idea about the truth of any of this. I do know that I like Charles Ramsey and the idea of the story. I hope things work out for him and we still plan on bringing him to a UK game this winter.
