Photo Source: UKathletics.com After falling behind 5-1 in the top of the seventh inning, the Bat Cats put together an exciting comeback in the bottom of the seventh that helped them claim the first game of today's doubleheader. UK used hits by Michael Williams, Austin Cousino, Matt Reida and a double by J.T. Riddle in the seventh to tie the game at five apiece. An Alabama error on a groundball to second base allowed the go-ahead run to score for the 'Cats. UK would surrender a run in the following inning on a base hit up the middle to set up more late-inning drama. In the bottom of the eighth the 'Cats took advantage of some erratic Alabama pitching. After hitting the first batter of the inning, Luke Maile and Cameron Flynn were both walked to bring up Michael Williams with the bases loaded. He too drew a walk that forced home Austin Cousino, who would be the eventual winning run. After winning last night and again today, UK locked up its seventh SEC series victory of the season. UK is now 39-11 on the year and 17-9 in the SEC. The second game of the doubleheader and final game of the series is underway right now.
