[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="422"] @8xchampuk[/caption] It was on this day, one year ago, when Joe Schroer debuted his first single, "Big Blue Fan In The Morning," here on KSR. Now known as Kentucky Joe, the singer-songwriter with the mellifluous voice won the entire state of Kentucky over with his a cappella performance of the unofficial UK basketball anthem on YouTube, where it now has 50,000 views, 49,875 of those being me. The song, a tale of Joe's devotion to Kentucky basketball, namely the 2012 national championship, has a clear and crisp sound that captures listeners and draws them in emotionally, while maintaining its catchy tune. Its lyrics paint the perfect picture of that magical season, taking us back as if we are still in the moment. For instance, in the song's third verse, Joe reflects back on the great players and how they were younger than any other team to reach that success: "I see Anthony Davis, Jones and Miller too. They were in a class all by themselves, most of them were 18 too." Beautiful words, Joe. Truly beautiful. Regardless of what you think of Joe on the KSR radio show, "Big Blue Fan In The Morning" is a masterpiece unlike anything we've ever heard. It's timeless. It's other words people use to describe a song, like uplifting, enlightening, and stimulating. It's all of the adjectives you can think of. I listen to it countless times a day. When I'm not listening to it, I'm thinking about listening to it. So join me in singing it tonight, exactly one year after we heard it for the first time... "I have memories that are present Some times they fade away I try to say I love you But you don't care today Something I want to tell you Oh it happened just a year ago When Big Blue was true blue And number eight was won on that floor Oh I'm a Big Blue fan in the morning Oh I'm a Big Blue fan today I bleed Big Blue and I love you Oh I'm a Big Blue fan today Oh I'm a Big Blue fan in the morning Oh I'm a Big Blue fan today I bleed Big Blue and I love you Oh I'm a Big Blue fan today..." ***** Expect tons of football content on the website Friday. Mrs. Tyler made the drive up from Nashville to attend UK football media day with our football writer, one Nick Roush. The two of them will load you up with football content throughout the day and on through the weekend. I have a 2:00 pm flight to the Bahamas but I will be around for Mark Stoops' early morning press conference, so join us bright and early here on the site as we deliver all of the quotes and notes you can handle from Commonwealth Stadium. Mark Stoops will be a guest on the radio show. If you're just joining us and didn't get a chance to read the post directly south of this one, allow me to tell you how awesome the radio show will be in the morning. It will be awesome. KSR will be coming to you live from media day, where Mark Stoops, Mitch Barnhart and Vince Marrow are scheduled to come on and talk football and football facilities. Others may pop on too if Matt can reel them in during the festivities. Don't miss it. KSR leaves for the Bahamas tomorrow afternoon. As I mentioned above, the KSR gang is meeting up in Atlanta to board a plane to the Bahamas together tomorrow afternoon. Matt, the Turkey Hunter, Hubby, Tall and I will land in the Bahamas Friday evening and Matt and I are in for the long haul. Assuming the Wi-Fi works, and it won't because nothing ever works when KSR leaves town, we will be your one-stop shop for all of the Bahamas coverage. That means if Brian Long is riding a jet-ski with Karl Towns on his back, we'll have it here, plus lots of radio and other basketball-related stuff all week long. We won't miss a thing, except sleep, in my case. WatchESPN will air the first three games from the Bahamas. If you're stuck at work or don't have access to ESPNU, WatchESPN (formerly ESPN3) is scheduled to air the first three games before coverage switches to the SEC Network on Thursday. It may pick up the other three, but as of now it isn't on the programming schedule. We'll let you know when we know. Willie Cauley-Stein's pants are so Willie Cauley-Stein. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="360"] @DekeReads[/caption] I bought a short-sleeve button-up shirt with flying tacos on it today so I can't really say anything about those pants. Malik Monk had a "good visit" to Kentucky. Marcus Monk, Malik's brother, had very little to say to Adam Zagoria about their recent unofficial visit to UK. “It was a good visit,” Marcus told ZagsBlog. “We just toured the campus, watched practice, that was pretty much it.” Marcus said his brother and Calipari didn't get to talk a lot about the future because Cal was focused on getting the Cats ready for the Bahamas. ESPNU will air one of Madison Southern's games this fall. Madison Southern's game against Pulaski County on October 10 will be televised on ESPNU. That's the kind of thing that happens when you have the nation's top running back in your backfield. Good for Madison Southern. And for Pulaski. I need to pack. So I'm going to go. It was good talking to you. Go Cats.
