By now you have probably heard the infamous story about Billy Clyde driving around Lexington the morning he was scheduled to get fired in order to avoid Mitch Barnhart and Lee Todd. Gillispie likely knew that his future was sealed and for a long period of time, Mitch and Lee could not find him to fire him. Well it looks as if the same thing is happening now.
Billy Clyde is using up all of his accrued sick days before meeting with Texas Tech officials about his future. Just as a child hides under the bed when his parents are looking to ground him, Billy Clyde is using his legal days of absence to make sure and avoid getting the heave-ho from the Red Raider brass.
Time is running out for the Billy Clyde era in Lubbock clearly...but the real question is,
what other ideas could Billy Gillispie utilize to avoid meeting with his bosses and getting fired?
