Many in Big Blue Nation had no idea who No. 22 was on offense when Cutter Boley and the Kentucky offense went on a 20-play drive in the third quarter. During that long possession, a true freshman wide receiver made some plays and caught everyone’s attention. Who was that class of 2025 prospect?

It was Cameron Miller — and he was one of Kentucky’s better high school recruiting wins in the latest high school cycle.

“He’s got a lot of heart. He cares a lot, and he plays super fast,” Boley said about Miller. “He’s grinding, always in the facility, always working. I’m really proud of Cam, to be able to come in here today and know what he’s doing and just play his heart out. That’s a dude that ain’t scared of nothing.”

Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops says that Kentucky will likely have to give Miller “some opportunities” moving forward. Now feels like a good time to take a look back at Miller’s recruitment and provide some background information on a player that many will be watching closely over the next few games.

Let’s dive in.

A top target that Kentucky flipped from Wisconsin

Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township wide receiver Cameron Miller quickly emerged as a top target for new Kentucky wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts. During the spring, Kentucky was battling Wisconsin in this recruitment. The Badgers were able to secure a commitment in May but UK never stopped recruiting Miller.

Shorts ultimately left Kentucky around signing day for Nebraska, but that did not stop the program from breaking out the spatula. Miller flipped from Wisconsin to UK following an offensive coordinator change in Madison.

Miller joined three-star cornerback Grant Grayton (Minnesota to UK) as Big Ten commits that flipped to Kentucky late in the process. Both are now playing roles in year one on campus after enrolling in the summer.

Highly productive high school career

Cameron Miller was a four-year starter at at Winslow Township. The top-500 recruit and No. 12 prospect in New Jersey had 59 receptions for 1,342 yards and 15 touchdowns to go along with 26 tackles, two tackles for loss, and two interceptions as a junior. This production did not stop.

As a senior, Miller recorded 42 catches for 722 yards, 14 receiving touchdowns, 28 tackles, two interceptions, and two punt return touchdowns. The standout helped lead Winslow Township to a 14-0 finish and a state title. It was only the program’s second championship.

Miller was two-way standout who also ran track in high school.

Luckett’s Scouting Notebook: Cameron Miller

Over at KSR+, I put together scouting write-ups on each of Kentucky’s high school signees from the 2025 high school class after watching film and collecting data. This is my breakdown of Cameron Miller.

Slot receiver for Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township recorded over 100 receptions for over 2,000 yards and 29 touchdowns over his last two seasons of high school football. Owns turbo speed with a terrific combination of acceleration and change of direction. Undersized receiver with tantalizing big-play potential.

Flipped from Wisconsin to Kentucky during the early signing period.

There are valid size concerns but Miller is dangerous with the ball in his hands, creates easy separation as a route-runner, and can fly in open space with the ability to change speeds. Owns a clear skill set that can have a highly productive role in a college offense.

Future outlook

The Kentucky passing game is off to a slow start in 2025. However, this throw game showed some development in Week 6 with Cutter Boley starting to get more comfortable. Now some wide receivers need to emerge. UK has been committed to playing some of the transfers they splurged cash on in the portal from the offseason but some younger players could get some more snaps.

That’s what happened on Saturday at Sanford Stadium. Cameron Miller made the most of his opportunity. What could his role look like moving forward?

There were size concerns for the high-three star recruit but this was a big-play generator in high school with excellent acceleration and route-running potential. There were also ball skills shown on tape. Miller flashed all of that against Georgia.

We could see the true freshman start to see more snaps in the slot moving forward. This was a legitimate recruiting win who could be ready to help the offense right now.
