Team USA continued their 2016 Rio Olympics undefeated streak by taking down France 100-97, moving to 5-0 in the preliminary rounds.

DeMarcus Cousins finished with nine points, five rebounds, one block, and one assist on the floor. He’s averaging nearly nine points and 5.3 rebounds per contest thus far.

Despite the acceptable final stat line, many complained on social media throughout the game about Cousins’ lack of defense, effort, and energy on the floor.

A few Twitter users with blue check marks had some… harsh words for the former Wildcat.

To make matters worse, he and Kevin Durant got posterized in the process.

In the final few minutes, however, Cousins put in some work on the glass and finished with some big buckets to help lead Team USA to victory. One rim was also laid to rest.

Though USA keeps winning, each game is looking uglier and uglier, and the margin of victory is drastically decreasing as the quality of opponent increases. We’ve been so spoiled with winning by over 40 points a game that we don’t know what to do with ourselves when the opposing team keeps it close.

With the win, Team USA clinches the top spot in Group A in preparation for the knockout round coming up here in a few days. USA will play again on Wednesday, August 17th, opponent TBD.
