The sixth-year guard has made it all the way to the NBA Finals in his first playoff appearance. In his first playoff run, Booker has not shied away from the #1 role, as he’s leading the Suns averaging 27 points on 44 percent from the field and 91 percent from the free-throw line. Booker’s backcourt partner Chris Paul has also helped tremendously, quickly turning around the Suns, who previously had not made the playoffs for an entire decade. https://twitter.com/TheMattPetersen/status/1410473227663577088?s=20 After the 40-point triple-double in the first game of the Conference Finals, Booker suffered a broken nose in game two, dawning a face mask. With Booker not playing up to his standards, Paul was determined to get his team to the Finals, averaging 24 points and nine assists in the final four games to close out the Los Angeles Clippers. https://twitter.com/TheHoopCentral/status/1410719797344538626?s=20 Paul especially took over in the close-out game six. Up 3-2 on the series, the Suns were slowly giving up the lead they held over the Clippers, but Paul helped put an end to the Clippers comeback, scoring 31 of his 41 points in the second half, while Booker has been adjusting to the mask, as his shooting averages dropped to 35 percent from the field and 24 percent from beyond the arc. https://twitter.com/esidery/status/1411008333914329088?s=20 Paul, who has mentioned that the reason he picked the Suns as his preferred trade destination is because of the young core of Booker and Deandre Ayton, is now playing in his first NBA Finals after 16 years in the league. After being bounced out in the Western Conference Finals with the Houston Rockets, and the Clippers, Paul has a chance to get his first ring. https://twitter.com/espn/status/1410450918600937473?s=20 The Suns are currently awaiting the results of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Atlanta Hawks and the Milwaukee Bucks to end to see who they will end up facing. The Bucks currently lead Trae Young and the Hawks 3-2, with Game 7, if necessary, scheduled for July 5th. With the extra time between game six and the start of the NBA Finals, the Suns hope that Devin Booker can return to form after the broken nose.
