Prior to joining John Calipari's staff at Kentucky, Barbee spent four years as the Tigers' head coach.  While meeting with the media, head coach Bruce Pearl asked fans to be respectful when Barbee returns Auburn Arena.

"I would like to reach out to all of our fans, our students and our fans right now in preparation for that.  I know what it's like...in coaching, for better or worse, you give your heart and soul.  For better or worse, you give everything you have.

"I would think it would only be fitting and fitting with Auburn to be classy. He was our basketball coach for four years. He moved his family here. He was a part of this family. And I would, rather than have it be anything other than welcome him back to where his family spent four years. It should be nothing else. I would even ask the Jungle and the leadership... I may even Tweet that out. Because nothing else would be appropriate.

"I want great spirit, I want a great attitude. I want to get after Kentucky really, really hard. But that other stuff... I would be disappointed if we went there."

Stay classy, Auburn. [mobile_ad]
