BTI's Rants and Ramblings: No Reason UK Should not Win SEC Again

Auburn and Ole Miss gear up for another battle Central Florida Nicholls State UAB Florida Atlantic Iowa St. Peters Seton Hall Dayton UNC-Asheville Samford Campbell Jacksonville These are just a few of the early season losses that SEC teams have dealt with this season.  Frankly, last year's SEC might have been the worst the league has ever been.  Guess what?  This year's league might be worse.  Which should bring you to this conclusion: KENTUCKY SHOULD NOT ONLY WANT TO WIN THE LEAGUE TITLE, THEY SHOULD EXPECT TO WIN IT.  If early season results are any indication, Kentucky should feel disappointed with anything less than the title.    The Western Division of the SEC is a combined 22-13 so far.  Out of those 22 wins, only 2 have been against teams from one of the 6 major conferences.  And those wins were Arkansas over Oklahoma and Mississippi over Penn State.  Not exactly a murderers row there.  The East Division is not a ton better.  At least there are 2 ranked teams in that side of the league, but Florida is NOT a Top 25 team, and Georgia and South Carolina are just not good.  The SEC is looking at a potential 3 bid league, maybe 2 if Florida or Vanderbilt slip up.  Add to that, the 2nd best team in the league, Tennessee, will not even have their coach for the first 8 league games.  Let me know if I wrong, but because of the absolute mediocrity of the SEC, I think Cal and the guys should expect nothing less than these things: -SEC Regular Season Title -13-3 conference record or better -No conference home losses -No losses to the Western Division I would not have said these things before the season.  But, UK and UT are the only league teams playing up to expectations, and expectations were still high before the year.  They should only be higher now.
