BTI's Rants and Ramblings: SEC Basketball, It's FAAAAAANNNNNtastic

by: Bryan1312/23/13
Outside of Florida and maybe Missouri, SEC basketball has been less than impressive in the first 2 months of the season.  Take a look at each of the 13 other SEC teams, their quality wins, losses, and current RPI.  The ALABAMA (5-6) Quality Wins: Ummmmmmm......Texas Tech? Losses: Oklahoma, Duke, Drexel, South Florida, Wichita State, Xavier RPI: 129 ARKANSAS (9-2) Quality Wins: Ummmmmmm.....Clemson? Losses: California, Gonzaga RPI: 54 AUBURN (6-3) Quality Wins: Ummmmmm.......Boston College? Losses: Northwestern State, Iowa State, Illinois RPI: 195 FLORIDA (9-2) Quality Wins: Kansas, Memphis.....thank god Losses: Wisconsin, UCONN RPI: 15 GEORGIA (6-4) Quality Wins: Ummmmmm........Wofford? Losses: Georgia Tech, Davidson, Temple, Nebraska RPI: 308 (SERIOUSLY) LSU (8-2) Quality Wins: Butler (if we consider them quality anymore) Losses: UMASS, Memphis (Kentucky likely to make it the Calipari triple in January) RPI: 20 MISSISSIPPI STATE (9-2) Quality Wins: South Florida?????? Losses: Utah State, TCU RPI: 192 MISSOURI (10-1) Quality Wins: UCLA Losses: Illinois RPI: 25 OLE MISS (8-3) Quality Wins: Ummmmmm......Georgia Tech? Losses: Kansas State, Oregon, Mercer RPI: 48 SOUTH CAROLINA (3-5) Quality Wins: Hahahahaha...... Losses: Baylor, Clemson, Oklahoma State, Manhattan, USC-Upstate RPI: 174 TENNESSEE (6-4) Quality Wins: Xavier??? Losses: Xavier, UTEP, Wichita State, NC State RPI: 94 TEXAS A&M (8-3) Quality Wins: Comically we will say Houston Losses: Missouri State, SMU, Oklahoma RPI: 146 VANDERBILT (7-3) Quality Wins: Once again....Georgia Tech? Losses: Butler, Providence, Texas RPI: 70 So Cats fans, are we disappointed once again with the quality of SEC basketball?  I know I am.  Kentucky has not shown us much in big games this season, and unfortunately they won't face many more opportunities in the conference play.  Two games against Florida and one against Missouri might be it.
