Dominic_Magee With Emmanuel Mudiay out of the picture, Cal is doing his best to make sure the point guard position for 2014 is covered. According to 247's Chris Fisher, Kentucky offered 4-star point guard Dominic MaGee a spot on Monday:
"They offered. I think it was [Monday]. The assistant coach [Kenny Payne] called my mom and dad and said they wanted me. [Calipari] is supposed to call today."
MaGee's final five schools are Kentucky, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Memphis, and LSU. At 6'3", 175 lbs, the Louisiana native is bigger than UK's other PG prospect Tyler Ulis, and has drawn comparisons to John Wall, another great Calipari guard. Understandably, UK's system appeals to him:
"They produce a lot of guards, one and dones. Anthony Davis, Marquis Teague, a lot of good players came from Kentucky," MaGee said. "Coach Calipari is a great coach."
ESPN considers MaGee the 71st best player in the 2014 class. He says he'll visit each of the schools in his top five, starting with Memphis on September 7th.
