Caleb Holt's official visit to Kentucky is back on for this weekend

As it turns out, Caleb Holt will take his official visit to Kentucky this weekend.
A five-star shooting guard out of Alabama, Holt was originally scheduled to be in Lexington from Friday through Sunday (Sept. 5-7), which KSR was first to report back in July. However, less than two weeks later, reports began to surface that Holt pushed back his OV with the Wildcats one week to Sept. 12-14. That is no longer the case. Holt’s father tells Jacob Polacheck of KSR+ that his son will, in fact, take his official visit with Kentucky this coming weekend.
This is significant news for Mark Pope‘s program. Clocking in at 6-foot-5, Holt is considered the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle. He’s coming off an official visit over the weekend to check out what John Calipari has to offer at Arkansas. Pope is next in line to make his pitch, and he should have a great football atmosphere at Kroger Field on Saturday to show off for Holt when Ole Miss comes to town.
Holt won’t be the only top recruit on campus, either. He’ll be joined this weekend by four-star small forward Maximo Adams, who will also be on his OV to Kentucky. It’ll be an important recruiting stretch for Pope and his staff as they look to land their first 2026 commit. Holt appears to be near the very top of Kentucky’s Big Board.

“Coach Pope, he was my on-court coach at USA (training camp),” Holt told KSR in July. “I got to play for him, and it was actually fun, he let me rock out. He was like, that’s how it’s gonna be at Kentucky. Kentucky is definitely in the mix, high up. I mess with Mark Pope and everything.”
Holt is also planning to take official visits to Alabama and Auburn this fall. The home state schools are making a real push to keep him within their borders. Houston and Ole Miss, along with Arkansas, are also viewed as contenders. But Pope has Kentucky in a good spot heading into this weekend. Knocking this official visit out of the park could go a long way in potentially landing Holt down the road.
