Immanuel Quickley earned some pre-tournament love from his head coach during John Calipari's press conference from Jacksonville on Wednesday. Calipari said the freshman guard has improved significantly throughout the year, maybe more so than anybody on the entire team. "He's another one that lives in the gym," said Cal, in raving about Quickley's growth. "I'm trying to get him to slow his mind down. In this game we play, you can have your feet move real fast, but your feet can't move faster than your mind move fast. And getting him to slow down his mind so that he can read stuff better, that's been what we've worked on all season, and he's getting better and better and better. "From where he was defensively to where he is now, from where he is decision making and shot making and play making to where he is now, not close. I am so proud of him and so happy for him." Cal noted that being able to sub Quickley for Ashton Hagans and vice versa has worked out well for UK's backcourt.
