James Madison offensive line transfer Cameron Jones visits Kentucky

Kentucky left spring practice with three first-year transfers (Joshua Braun, Shiyazh Pete, and Alex Wollschlaeger) holding down starting positions on the offensive line. Another starter (Jalen Farmer) is in his second year in the program. Jager Burton had to fend off WKU transfer Evan Wibberley for the starting center position. We saw a massive roster overhaul in Eric Wolford‘s position room. That rebuild is not done yet.
Kentucky added Ball State tackle transfer Rob Fogler to the roster on Tuesday. Another Group of Five transfer just wrapped up a visit to Lexington.
James Madison transfer Cameron Jones entered the transfer portal on April 16. The Weirton (W. Va.) Weir product did not appear on offense in two years playing for head coaches Curt Cignetti and Bob Chesney in the Sun Belt. The transfer has taken visits to Southern Miss, Akron, and UK.

Kentucky saw eight scholarship offensive line players leave the program for the transfer portal this offseason. Courtland Ford (UCLA), Koby Keenum (Mississippi State), Marc Nave Jr. (Purdue), Dylan Ray (Minnesota), and Wallace Unamba (Virginia) each landed at power conference programs. The Wildcats addressed the starter need in the winter window but are now looking to bolster depth in the spring.
Cameron Jones could give the offense yet another tackle prospect with good size (6-6, 330) and multiple years of eligibility remaining for development.
