Cats land a football commitment

by:Thomas Beisner01/29/10
farrington-huguenin According to Kentucky Ink, the Cats received a commitment from South Carolina defensive end Farrington Huguenin this evening.  Huguenin is a 6'4" 240 pounder does not have a ranking by Rivals and, according to Palmetto Sports, held offers from South Carolina State, North Carolina Central and North Carolina A&T.  He posted 121 tackles and four sacks as a senior and drew some interest from South Carolina following his senior season, as well as some interest from Tennessee, Clemson, Georgia and Michigan State after an impressive showing at the Nike Combine last summer.  He's also the nephew of former NFL defensive lineman Gerald Perry. While not exactly the big name prospect that UK fans were expecting the staff to announce under their new recruiting strategy, Huguenin becomes UK's 22nd commitment of the 2010 class and the seventh on the defensive line.
