Cats Looking at a Natyazhko

by:Matt Jones01/29/09
wertwe Evan Daniels of Scout.com reported yesterday that Kyryl Natyazhko is still listing Kentucky as a potential suitor for his services. For those of you that have missed the reports on Natyazhko over the past year or so, he is a 6'10" center out of the Ukraine who has come to America to break Rocky.....er, to play basketball at the highest level. He is currently playing for an Academy in Florida and is one of the very players in the Class of 2009 of top talent who has yet to commit to a school. He is considering Miami, Xavier, Arizona State, Pitt and the Cats and is not scheduled to take any visits in the coming weeks. I have been told by some folks close to the program that the Natyazhko is being kept as a prospect for the Cats depending on what happens with the big man situation next year, aka whether Patterson stays, if anyone transfers and any other potential contingencies. Kyryl is ranked #64 in the class and while I have not personally seen him, a couple of people who have that I trust say that he has a great deal of potential. And oh yeah, his name is out of this world great......so keep your eye on the Natyazhko....it may pay dividends in the late Spring.
