What are you going to do with all of that money Rich Strike helped you win at the Kentucky Derby? If you saw that one coming, reinvesting in Kentucky football futures might not be a bad idea.

We are 110 days away from the kickoff the 2023 college football season when Vanderbilt travels to Hawaii to take on the Rainbow Warriors in Week Zero. Talking season will consume much of the sport’s oxygen until then. Wading through the takes is no easy task. Let Las Vegas be your futures thermometer.

Monday afternoon the bookmakers at BetOnline.ag released their latest odds on college football futures. Mark Stoops’ Kentucky football team currently has 40-1 odds to win the SEC, the third choice in the Eastern Division behind Florida (33-1) and the defending National Champs, Georgia (5-4).

2023 SEC Football Championship Odds

  • Alabama 1-1
  • Georgia 5-4
  • Texas A&M 11-1
  • Florida 33-1
  • Ole Miss 33-1
  • Kentucky 40-1
  • Tennessee 40-1
  • LSU 50-1
  • Arkansas 66-1
  • Auburn 66-1
  • South Carolina 100-1
  • Mississippi St 200-1
  • Mizzou 400-1
  • Vandy 500-1

The bottom four teams are all on Kentucky’s schedule. Of course, odds, even futures, do not tell the future. However, these paint a clearer picture of what SEC football landscape will look like this fall without biased media projections from Shane Beamer and Eli Drinkwitz butt-slappers. There’s a clear second-tier in the SEC East behind Georgia. The Cats must maintain the position as the division’s second-best to continue to nip at the Dawgs’ heels.

Other Kentucky Football Futures

If you’re feeling extra froggy and want to really press your luck, BetOnline’s oddsmakers will happily let you dream big this offseason. Kentucky is +15,000 to win the CFB Playoff and Will Levis is +10,000 to win the Heisman. After one analyst predicted a No. 1 overall draft selection for Levis next year, that Heisman juice appears to be worth the squeeze.
