Could someone please get Tubby a cocktail?
The simple fact of the matter is that any offense under any coach looks bad when shots don’t fall. Look at Pitino, everyone is so enamored with his style, and the Cards are lucky to hit for 60 points. Tubby has had high scoring teams in the past, because he had the talent to do so. UK’s current team has a lot of streaky shooters, but nothing compared to the likes of Jeff Shepard, Tayshaun, Bogans, Fitch, or umm, Saul Smith. As witnessed in the second half today, UK is able to play a much more uptempo style when they make their shots and show a little pride on D. You can say all you want about “Tubby-Ball”, but any kind of “ball” works when the “ball” is going through the hoop. Judging by the second half results, I’m sure Tubby is just fine with the style that earned them the ‘W’. Now, where’s that Scotch…
