Dan Werner took his visit at the end of last week to Kentucky and this 6 8 power forward from all indications, had a good time.  But the Kentucky world was a bit shaken when an interview from this morning seemed to suggest that while the Werners enjoyed their visit, they still were committed firmly to North Carolina State and that all schools would have to go through them before it was determined where Dan would go.

I spoke today with some sources close to the recruitment, and ultimately, I think most Kentucky fans should still feel good about this recruitment.  Werner (who looks more and more to me like the type of player Kentucky could really use....a power forward who can rebound and shoot from the outside), is still very much interested in Kentucky and in fact, the Cats are likely the leader at this point for his services.  Werner must still visit Pitt and Florida (who yes, as defending national champions, are very persuasive), however the Cats sit in a solid position.  Dan wants to go to a school where basketball is king and the visit to the Bluegrass showed them that this is certainly the case in LExington.

As we said a couple of weeks ago on here....the name Dan Werner should be on every Kentucky fan's tongue....now more than ever.
