Before you watch Sydney McLaughlin go for gold in the 400m hurdles tonight, you can watch another Kentucky Track and Field star try to secure his spot in the 110m hurdles finals.

Daniel Roberts, who competed at Kentucky from 2017-19, will run in the semifinals of the 110m hurdles at 10 p.m. ET, roughly a half hour before Sydney’s run. Yesterday, Roberts placed second in his heat with a time of 13.41, which ranked 11th overall and earned him a spot in the semis. At Kentucky, Roberts was a two-time NCAA silver medalist (60m hurdles and 110m hurdles) and the SEC 110m hurdles champ. In 2019, he won the US Championships in the event.

Tonight, Roberts will be in Lane 5 of Heat 1. His Team USA teammate and 110m rival Grant Holloway, ranked No. 1 in the world, will be in Heat 3, Lane 4. Hopefully we get to see them duel it out in the finals Wednesday night.
