Davis already exceeding expectations in NOLA

Caption this... To say Anthony Davis came into the NBA with a lot of expectations is like saying that Calipari enjoys fro-yo...it's the understatement of the century. Yet, somehow Anthony is already exceeding expectations in the preseason, due in large part to how quickly he's taken to Monty Williams' coaching style. From Sporting News' Sean Deveney:
Davis was the No. 1 overall pick, and he spent the summer with the U.S. Olympic team, so it should be no surprise he has come into October ready to play. But what’s been most impressive about his preseason is the quickness with which he has latched onto Monty Williams’ coaching. Coming into the year, the thinking was that Davis would be an impact player defensively from the beginning and that his offense would take some time to develop. But Williams has pushed Davis to produce offensively throughout the preseason, trying to build Davis’ confidence in his midrange jumper, going so far as to play Davis at small forward at times. Davis still needs work–he is shooting 43.5 percent–but Williams has been encouraged by the results, with Davis averaging 13.4 points and 10.0 rebounds.
Monday night, Davis only put up six points but pulled down seventeen boards and this block, which seems pretty familiar...
