[caption id="attachment_298296" align="alignnone" width="900"] @Jager_Burton[/caption] Good news on the Kentucky football recruiting front has come frequently over the last three weeks. The Cats have picked up five commitments in that short period of time. That does not appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Four days after Dekel Crowdus announced his commitment to the University of Kentucky, the four-star wide receiver from Lexington teased another big addition to the UK football program. https://twitter.com/CrowdusDekel/status/1261095146537525253 Who might that other 'dog' be? I know who you're thinking it is. Jager Burton is Crowdus' Frederick Douglass High School teammate. A top ten offensive guard in the 2021 class and No. 158 player in America according to Rivals, Burton has openly discussed a package deal with Crowdus throughout the recruiting process. Only a week ago Burton Tweeted, "I'm getting closer to a decision." Crowdus has to be referring to Burton, right? Not so fast my friend. Kentucky is in excellent position to land Burton's services, there's no denying it. Even so, I don't foresee his camp reaching a conclusion just because his friend recently made a commitment. Burton will let this process play out a little longer as Ohio State and Alabama try to convince him to leave his home state. The player you should keep an eye on is a different in-state talent, Jordan Lovett. For the last month KSR sources have been optimistic about Kentucky's chances to land the defensive back from North Hardin High School. That optimism amplified after his teammate, running back La'Vell Wright, committed to UK on KSR last week. Kentucky is one of seven regional schools in the mix for Lovett. A lengthy 6-foot-2 athlete with exceptional ball skills, last season he picked off an incredible 15 passes. The No. 5 player in the state, Kentucky could end up getting a steal in the secondary. Typically the spring and summer camp sessions are the biggest opportunities for rising seniors to make a significant leap in their recruiting rankings. Jared Casey was unranked until he won the linebacker MVP honors at a Rivals regional camp. Soon after he was a four-star recruit with a scholarship offer from Oregon. Lovett would have benefitted exponentially from additional exposure. Luckily, Kentucky was able to evaluate the talent early in the process before the coronavirus effectively canceled the spring and summer camp circuits. The only question that remains: can Vince Marrow close the deal?
