Devin Booker saved his best performance of the Olympics for the penultimate game of the competition. The former Kentucky Wildcat scored 20 points to help Team USA run away with a 97-78 win over Australia to advance to the Gold Medal Game in Tokyo.

Fresh off a run to the NBA Finals, Booker was not exactly lighting it up in the Summer Olympics. Despite his struggles, Gregg Poppovich kept Booker in the starting lineup. Persistence paid off in the wee hours Thursday morning when Booker netted 7-of-10 shots, 3-of-5 from three, to score 20 points and help the Americans rally.

Team USA actually trailed Patty Mills and co. at half. Behind 45-42, the Americans absolutely blitzed the Aussies out of the halftime locker room. Booker capped off the 35-10 third quarter by draining a bucket just before the buzzer.

Booker’s performance was only slightly surpassed by Kevin Durant. The Brooklyn Nets star finished the night with 23 points and nine rebounds. Booker’s Finals foes, Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton, each scored 11 points for Team USA. Bam Adebayo had eight rebounds in just 14 minutes of action and Keldon Johnson dished out an assist in his two-minute appearance.

See some of Booker’s best work for Team USA before they take on the winner of France-Slovenia Friday night at 10:30 pm ET.
