Dominique Hawkins has his swagger back

Dominique Hawkins has been one of those great players that have been overshadowed by NBA lottery picks year after year and fans question why he isn't playing more. Coming to UK, Coach Cal told him that it could be his junior year before Hawkins saw significant playing time. We have gotten to see his abilites several times over the last two years, especially when Trey Lyles was sick in February. Chris Fisher at 247 Sports talked to his former coach at Madison Central, Allen Feldhaus Jr., who after watching Hawkins workout at his old high school gym this week, believes he has his confidence back.

Dominique Hawkins is poised to see more minutes this upcoming season with the loss of seven players to the NBA Draft. We know what Hawkins is capable of defensively, as he played an important role in slowing down Michigan's Nik Stauskas in last year's run to the Final Four. Hawkins can be a key contributor in the upcoming basketball season with his defensive energy and leadership. 247 Sports
