The big news in the basketball world last night was Dwyane Wade's plans to return to Chicago, his hometown, to sign with the Chicago Bulls. It will be a two-year deal that will pay him about $47.5 million, a little more than the $40 million over two years Miami offered to keep him around in the organization he's played for since 2003-04, his rookie season. Wade now teams up with another new Bull, Rajon Rondo, to form an interesting backcourt in the Windy City. They might hate each other, or it might just work out -- either way, those are two good guards to replace the loss of Derrick Rose and to keep Jimmy Butler happy on the wing. As for the city of Miami, fans spent the night burning Wade jerseys. How quickly they forget he was loyal to the Heat throughout his entire career, and not once was the highest paid player on that roster in his 13 seasons, which is a crazy stat for such a superstar with three rings. He deserves better.   The Nike EYBL Peach Jam got underway last night. The biggest basketball recruiting event of the summer kicked off last night with 12 games over the course of almost six hours down in North Augusta. Of course, the Kentucky coaching staff was in attendance to watch several of their top targets in the 2017 recruiting class, and you can find some of those targets named below, by order in which Calipari watched them play Wednesday night:

-- Mohamed Bamba, Quade Green -- Marvin Bagley, John Petty, P.J. Washington -- Trae Young, Hamidou Diallo, Kevin Knox -- Nick Richards, Tremont Waters -- DeAndre Ayton

The staff will get plenty more looks at those guys, and more, as each team is scheduled to play four games in three days before the championship on Sunday. We'll have a ton of coverage coming today and on through the weekend with Nick Roush on the scene, including interviews with several of the players, beginning this morning. Alex Poythress is in action down in Orlando this afternoon. Poythress will suit up for Orlando Blue this afternoon to continue his quest to prove he is worthy of an NBA contract. AP's first three performances did not go as well as he had hoped, with averages of five points and under two rebounds per game in those three contests. He started the first game for Blue, then lost that role to Okaro White, currently of the Greek Basket League, in the last two. Today's game tips at 1 pm against Marquis Teague and the Mavs. Teague also has a lot of ground to make up in Florida this week. The Utah Summer League ends tonight. You'll get James Young and the Celtics at 7 pm, followed by Trey Lyles and the Jazz at 11 pm. All games from both leagues will be televised on NBA TV. Jamal Murray makes an appearance in new Canadian basketball commercial. Today's show is near the Ohio River. And that's all I'm telling you. I'm on my way now and we'll announce the location once the show begins at 10 am.
