Someone forgot to tell Eric Bledsoe the Suns are intentionally trying to tank this season for a good spot in the 2014 NBA Draft. That was the plan when Phoenix traded away all of its assets in the offseason, but Bledsoe, the team's new point guard, didn't get the memo. He's led the hot Suns to a 5-3 record through the first eight games of the season. Last night the former Wildcat scored 23 points with six assists and three rebounds in a tough one-point loss on the road to Portland. That brings his season averages to 21.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 4.3 rebounds, way up from last season's 8.5 points, 3.1 assists, and 3 rebounds with the Clippers. He's seeing 14 more minutes per game now that he's in Phoenix, up to 34 per game, with an increased field goal percentage (.514%) to go along with it. A restricted free agent next summer, Bledsoe is on pace for the NBA's Most Improved award, a run at a spot on the All-Star game roster, and a fat paycheck next season. Way to go, E-Bled. Keep it up.
