Mississippi State has found its new athletic director, and it's not DeWayne Peevy; however, it is someone with Kentucky ties. According to The Clarion-Ledger, former UK and Mississippi State baseball coach John Cohen will be the Bulldog's new athletic director, replacing Scott Stricklin, who accepted the same position at Florida earlier this month. Cohen coached at Kentucky from 2004-2008 before making the move to Starkville, where he's been the head baseball coach for the past seven years. He's expected to be introduced as Mississippi State's new AD on Tuesday. I'm sure Cohen will do a great job, but selfishly, I'm just happy this means DeWayne Peevy will be in Lexington for (hopefully) the foreseeable future. UPDATE: Not so fast! Mississippi State is denying reports they've hired Cohen.
