Sources informed LEX 18 that former Kentucky center Mike Phillips has died. The sourced told LEX 18 that Phillips died from an accidental fall on Saturday in is home in Madisonville, Kentucky.
Joe B. Hall, Phillips' former coach commented on the tragedy.
"Oh, that's terrible news. He was a pillar of strength. Very hard working. He and Rick Robey were the original Twin Towers."
Phillips was a key part of the 1978 National Championship team. He averaged 11 points and 6 rebounds during his career at Kentucky.
