Former UK commit Lindsey Duvall announces transfer to NKU

The former 2017 Miss Kentucky Basketball winner announced that she would be transferring away from the University of Louisville in order to attend Northern Kentucky University. Duvall made the announcement on her Instagram.

Duvall played her high school ball at Bullitt East out in Mount Washington, KY where she was a top-rated recruit in the class of 2017. EspnW ranked her as the 24th overall player in her class and the seventh-best guard. She originally committed to play for Matthew Mitchell and the Kentucky Wildcats back in Nov. 2015, but it was revealed just one week later that Duvall had a "grape-sized" tumor in her leg, sidelining her for a lengthy recovering process and forcing her to miss the majority of her junior year in high school. She ultimately came back stronger than before, winning Miss Kentucky Basketball in 2017 as a senior at Bullitt East before eventually switching commitments from the 'Cats to the Louisville Cardinals. She was one of several UK players who would leave the program at the time. Duvall wound up redshirting her freshman season due to another injury and played two seasons after that, however in a limited role. She will graduate from UL this summer before transferring to NKU, where she will still have two years left of eligibility remaining. Duvall averaged 2.6 points and 0.9 rebounds in 49 total games with the Cards. NKU women's basketball posted a 20-win season in 2019-20 for the first time since transitioning to Divison I back in 2012. Interestingly enough, Duvall isn't the only former Miss Kentucky Basketball to announce a transfer from Louisville. The winner of the same award in 2018 - just one year after Duvall was crowned - Seygan Robins announced her intentions to leave Louisville a few days after Duvall did.
