One former Kentucky tight end has an attraction to MACtion.

Nik Ognenovic announced Wednesday afternoon that he will be taking his talents to Akron. The Zips earned a bowl bid under Terry Bowden in 2017, but Akron has won just one game in the first two years of the Tom Arth era.

Ognenovic, a 6-foot-5 three-star prospect out of Ft. Lauderdale, was recruited by Eddie Gran, choosing the Wildcats over Pitt, Ole Miss, Syracuse and FAU in 2018. As a true freshman he caught a pass against UT-Martin, then spent most of the 2020 season competing on special teams.

Big Nik could one day face his former team. The Wildcats are scheduled to travel to Akron to take on the Zips in September of 2023.
