Georgia Game Thread

by:Thomas Beisner•01/18/09
The Cats are in Athens today for a shakedown with the Georgia Bulldogs - a team that they hold an all-time record of 109-23 against.   The Bulldogs winless in the conference and sitting at 9-8 overall with losses to Loyola and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and haven't been the least impressive this year outside of the first 38 minutes of the Tennessee game.  But, before we write them off altogether, let's remember that this undertalented squad is going to be grabbing, hacking and holding in an effort to keep it close and it's been fairly successful in the past.  Georgia has won 4 of the 12 contests with the Cats since Dennis Felton came over from Western Kentucky, but the games are always very physical and closer than UK fans would care for. But, I don't think this team can be thrown off by the mug and thug tactics of Georgia.  They play a physical style as well and they haven't backed down to anyone yet this season and I don't think it's going to happen in Athens.  I think the Cats get a big game out of Patrick Patterson and get a little revenge for this garbage. Use this space to discuss and predict.  I'll take UK 74-58. Go Cats.
