Halo Top's Friday Morning Wakeup

Hello, my name is Tyler and I'm addicted to Halo Top. I assure you this isn't a sponsored post (although, Halo Top, if you're reading, it's sad what I would do for a free pint of your ice cream). Over the past few months, I've heard the buzz about Halo Top, the low-calorie, high-protein ice cream, and filed it under "too good to be true." Wednesday night, I made the cardinal mistake of going to the grocery store hungry, and, after reading yet another Facebook post about Halo Top, decided to try out a pint of the vanilla bean. After reading that there's only 240 calories in one entire pint, I fully expected it to taste like a chalkboard, but much to my surprise, it was amazing. Like "this isn't diet food, this is real food" amazing. Like, "Holy crap, I just finished a pint" but "whatever, it was only 240 calories" amazing. I can't wait to try out chocolate and birthday cake. I'm probably doing people who already love Halo Top a disservice by spreading the word, so feel free to stop reading this post and run out to the store to stock up. I won't be offended, promise. Before I make my way to the freezer, let's go over today's agenda, shall we?

The New Mexico State game is tomorrow

Yesterday, Mark Stoops kept his remarks to the media after practice brief, repeating his comments from earlier in the week that he'll be more active with the defense tomorrow, specifically playcalling. Stoops also said the team has spent the week focusing on being "fundamentally sound. After two rough weeks, hopefully the New Mexico State game will give the team a chance to bounce back and attempt to get back on track for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, attendance is expected to be low, despite the program's Heroes Day promotion. The weather forecast has improved slightly, with the rain not expected to move in until after midnight. We've asked you a lot this week, but how many fans do you think will come to the game?

PJ Washington starts his official visit

pjwashington Sunday, John Calipari traveled to Las Vegas to visit five-star power forward PJ Washington, and today, Washington will return the favor when he starts his official visit in Lexington. The 6'7" Dallas, Texas native is considered a top five power forward in the class, and has talked about being a package deal with fellow UK target John Petty. If you see him around campus this weekend, make sure to say hi. Washington's visit means John Calipari's recruiting tour across America will come to an end. During the first week of the fall recruiting period, Calipari checked in on almost all of his primary targets. Yesterday, he was in New Jersey to check in on big man Nick Richards, and ended the day by visiting the top two prospects in the 2019 class, Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine.

Man, people really don't like the new basketball uniforms

Yesterday was Picture Day for the basketball Cats, meaning we got another look at the new uniforms. I was worried about the amount of checkerboard when I saw the uniforms earlier in this week, but hoped they would look better on. Unfortunately, even on Bam Adebayo, the checkerboard is still really distracting, although I do like the slimmer cut of the top and the shorter shorts. Most fans seem to agree that the checkerboard is too much, and even Devin Booker and Trey Lyles weighed in, tweeting that they do not approve of the Cats' new look. Judge for yourself in this behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoot from KyWildcatsTV: Today, we'll see the basketball team again (albeit not in their uniforms) when they deliver packed lunches to Picadome Elementary school as part of UK and God's Pantry's “Back Pack” community service program. Check the site this afternoon for pictures of the team having fun with the kids.

UK Volleyball got a huge win over Louisville

The ladies got their fourth straight win over Louisville last night, sweeping the Cards in three sets at the Yum Center. Junior Kaz Brown couldn't help but rub it in with this great tweet: https://twitter.com/KazBrown11/status/776579082356002816 Congrats, ladies. With "College Gameday" in Louisville for tomorrow's big showdown with Florida State, it's nice to have at least one thing to brag about this week. Radio in an hour...
