Travis Perry and Malachi Moreno aren’t the only nationally-ranked high school prospects from the state of Kentucky. Harlan County’s Trent Noah has been shooting up the ranks this summer as his stock continues to rise.

During the month of July, Noah has received offers from the likes of California, South Carolina, and Central Florida. In June he hauled in scholarships from Illinois State, Loyola-Chicago, Western Kentucky, Dayton, and Butler. Other programs such as Stanford, Richmond, Seton Hall, Belmont, George Mason, and Saint Louis have all previously reached out with offers. Noah is now up to over two dozen Divison I offers.

If you aren’t familiar with Noah, here’s what you need to know. He’s a homegrown 6-foot-6, 200-pound small forward considered a three-star recruit in the class of 2024. The On3 Industry Ranking has him tabbed as the No. 167 overall rising senior in the country — a rating that has steadily gone up and could continue to soar. During his junior season in 2022-23 for Harlan County, Noah averaged 26.5 points (11th in the state) and 12.8 rebounds (fourth in the state) per game on shooting splits of 52.3/37.5/83.1.

But it was his play on the Adidas 3SSB circuit for Midwest Basketball Club this summer that has grabbed the attention of college coaches. Noah averaged 12.4 points on 43.7 percent shooting from beyond the arc for MBC — the same AAU program Kentucky freshman Reed Sheppard played for. He’s created a reputation as a knockdown shooter with impressive size on the wing.

“I feel like I am a good shooter, who defends the ball well,” Noah recently told On3’s Jame Shaw. “I have a good IQ and will do whatever the team needs to win. I’ve seen this summer that I’ve gotten more athletic and improved my game on the defensive end. I enjoy watching Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. I’m trying to take how they play at their own pace and implement it into my game.”

Noah has five official visits locked in over the next two months, the first beginning on Sunday. He already took two OVs back in June to Richmond and Loyola-Chicago. His current plan is to try and announce his commitment sometime around October.

Seton Hall: July 30
Western Kentucky: September 8
Butler: September 20
South Carolina: September 22
Saint Louis: September 28

Despite being in John Calipari’s backyard and his grandfather playing football for the University of Kentucky, Noah isn’t currently hearing from the Wildcats. But don’t take that as a knock on his talent. Noah is still one of the state’s top recruits and his uptick in recruiting popularity is a perfect indicator of that. Expect Noah to play high-level college basketball as a freshman in 2024-25.
