The MLB Playoffs are underway and there is a Wild Card matchup in the National League that has KSR split down the middle with the show’s baseball loyalties.

If you’ve been following along, you know Matt Jones traded his lifelong Atlanta Braves fandom to join the misery of the Cincinnati Reds, and this year’s weird playoff format has the Reds in the playoffs for the first time since 2013. The Reds are the NL’s No. 7 seed in the new 16-team format, thanks to the outstanding pitching of of Trevor Bauer, Luis Castillo and Sonny Gray, with some momentum behind them having won 10 of 13 games to get in.

Cincinnati’s opponent is none other than the Atlanta Braves with lifelong supporters Shannon The Dude and I excited to see our team playing anyone but the St. Louis Cardinals (Ryan Lemond’s team) in the playoffs. The NL’s No. 2 seed has been crippled with injuries all year and they’re limping into the playoffs, but the offense is among the best in baseball, as proven by a game in which the Braves scored 29 runs earlier this season.

Game 1 is set for Wednesday at noon immediately after KSR goes off the air and we plan to stick around for a game watch party at KSBar and Grille. The Reds get all the KSBar love with season-long specials and watch parties, but I’m using my power to claim one half of the place for Atlanta Braves fans this week, and I hope to see you there.

Noon on Wednesday. Braves versus Reds, Game 1. Right after KSR live from outside KSBar and Grille. Enjoy these specials before the sweep.
