Even though the story of the game from the Big Blue perspective is the additional offense in the second half, Arizona State head coach Bobby Hurley looks at it from a defensive perspective.

“You gotta give credit of how hard Kentucky competed,” he said.  “Their pressure is as good as I’ve seen this year.”

On the his side of the ball, he saw the exact opposite.  “I thought we did a fairly good job keeping their guards out of the lane and disrupting in the first half,” he said.  “Not a great second half for us defensively.”

Isaiah Briscoe couldn’t be kept out of the lane in the second half.  He entered from a variety of angles to keep the defense guessing, finishing strong at the rim with just enough touch for the ball to roll in.  “He’s a talented guy with a very bright future,” Hurley said.

He only had 9 points, but they gave UK the boost they needed to take control of the game.
