If only ESPN would pick up the Miss St. game

As the proverb states, “there’s no such thing as bad publicity.” If you’re speaking Hollywood, then yes, this is true. Let’s be honest, who could discern between the Hilton sisters before Paris’s sex, lies, and videotape? Celebs can pretty much do anything now, knowing that if nothing else, they can turn to The Surreal Life or Celebrity Fat Camp for a quick buck. However, in the world of sports, negative pub. can be much more damaging (Unless of course you’re promoting a tell-all book like Jose Canseco or Bill Romanowski, who, in case you didn’t catch the 60 Minutes sob-fest last night, has apparently replaced HGH with estrogen injections). Just ask Pete Rose, Mike Price, Kobe Bryant, or the Minnesota Vikings. So when it was announced that the Kentucky/Florida game was being picked up by ESPN, I got to thinking...UK already suffered a sacrificial slaughtering at the hands of its intrastate rival on national TV this season, and will likely suffer a similar fate this weekend. So I’m going to open it up to you guys: Is the exposure that’s garnered from a nationwide cameo good for an attention-starved program, even if you’re made to look like a plate of Jerry Quarry being served to a ravenous Joe Frazier? Or, do publicized trounces merely put us back at square one? Either way, it’s in HD, so the sparkly blue helmets will look pretty, which is nice.
