In Four Hours, there Could Be a Situation for Wake Forest

situation Some notes on an afternoon of basketball glory: --- I think my new favorite new basketball player on the planet is Omar Samhan of St Marys. Not only did he score 32 points in a complete domination of Villanova, but he is hilarious, half Irish, half-Egyptian and is kind of slow and out of shape. Yet somehow he scores pretty much at will and completely dominates his phase of the game. He will get a lot of media attention this week and you should eat it up. He is a great character. --- Our boys from Murray State are trying to do for the Commonwealth what Louisville could not do last night, represent. As I write this, they are up 7 on Butler and attempting to pull off another shocker. I loved watching Murray when we saw them at Morehead and would really like to see them win again. --- Brandon Bender, former Louisville player, wrote on his Facebook page that Rick Pitino could be headed to St Johns, a position that Dick Vitale trumpeted on ESPN last night. The latter comment especially signals to me that there is some smoke to this fire and Rick might leave his Louisville trouble to head back to his home in the Northeast. --- Today is also a mixed emotion day for Erin Calipari, as her current school plays her father's team. She is attending the game and while I am sure she will be cheering Blue, it is a bit of a no-lose situation. --- The Lady Cats are getting all they want from Liberty, up 6 with 12 to play at my last count. We will keep you posted. More in a bit....
