Screen Shot 2016-06-02 at 2.15.18 PM It was just two days ago when Roush introduced us to a crew of singers out of Louisville making the state of Kentucky proud on the premier episode of America's Got Talent.  But last night, we met the newest Kentuckian to grace our screens in reality competition.  Elementary School Teacher, Brandi Mudd from Irvington, KY is set to take on the grueling nature of Fox/Gordon Ramsay's cooking competition MasterChef. Brandi's hometown of Irvington, KY has, according to Wikipedia, a population of 1,178.  In her talking head interview leading into her competition, she said "We got our first red light when I was in school, I think we have two now...".  Brandi is a teacher at Irvington Elementary School, which resides in Breckenridge County. In the first head-to-head battle for a MasterChef white apron, and a spot in the top-20, Brandi cooked up a cast iron skillet seared steak with Kentucky bourbon cream sauce, roasted mushrooms and parmesan crusted tomato.  If Willy Wonka's contraption could zap food into my television, that I could pull out and eat, I would have grabbed this.  I mean, look at it: Screen Shot 2016-06-02 at 2.28.00 PM She earned her white coat, along with praise from Ramsay, and we can now look forward to seeing her on MasterChef for the upcoming season.  Brandi isn't the only other Kentuckian in the competition either.  Shelby Reid from Newport, KY is also a member of the top-40.  Her fate on the show is yet to be determined in an upcoming episode of MasterChef for her shot at a white-apron and a top-20 spot. MasterChef airs Wednesdays at 8PM on Fox. @funkhouserksr
