It's Need-to-Know Wednesday!

Dearest Readers, I tell you that I've been in a great deal of "pickles" in my lifetime. And I can tell you that charm will only take you so far when you're staring down the barrel of a gun. Which is precisely the predicament I found myself in during my last trip to Haapavisi, a sleepy Finnish hamlet known not only for its fishing, but its massively swept-under-the-rug organized crime ring, which is run by a man known only as Ulii. One night, during a trip to see the acclaimed Finnish play Runar ja Kyllikki by renowned playwright Jussi Kylätasku, I ran aground of a small bar wherein I was challenged to a dance-off by several of the aforementioned Ulii's thugs. Also, it was 1979. And I wish I'd known then, what I know now. Take my advice. Learn to disco Finnish-style. It may save yourself a pinky one day. And I only wish someone had taught me this. I was sharing this story with the Intern last week, and his fantastical researching skills delivered this back to me, which I think is also worth sharing, since today's lesson deals with the art of bodymoving. I think it's worth noting that some people are just wired for the grace and beauty of dance. This child, for instance, who is currently in charge of what stays and what goes in the teen women's section of a regional Plato's Closet. Thanks to the Intern for bringing this to my attention. Now get out there and shake it. As we've seen today, it can ruin your life. Or it can save it. The choice, as always, is yours. That is all.
