Kentucky Football Shows Off Governors Cup Trophy At Rupp Arena

In his first offseason at Louisville, new head coach Jeff Brohm brought in a former Kentucky Wildcat to play tight end. Joey Gatewood then scored a touchdown against is former team in the Governor’s Cup. The Cardinals went back to the well again this offseason.

Kentucky transfer Izayah Cummings is headed home. The Louisville (Ky.) Male product committed to Louisville on Monday afternoon and will spend his final college season in the ACC.

In four seasons at Kentucky, Izayah Cummings recorded 18 receptions for 293 yards and three touchdowns. The senior’s best game of the season occurred against Louisville when Devin Leary hit a wide open Cummings on a wheel route to setup a third quarter touchdown. The former three-star recruit played wide receiver in year one before making the transition to tight end.

The Cummings departure leaves Kentucky with five scholarship tight ends for the 2024 season after Jordan Dingle exited the transfer portal.
