As the class of 2023 develops, the cornerback position is becoming a clear priority for Kentucky football. Secondary coach Chris Collins is hitting the recruiting trail hard to find help at the position as the Wildcats look to improve their roster. Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola cornerback Ja’Keem Jackson is one of those players that is rising up the board.

Ja’Keem Jackson is the No. 629 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. However, the three-star prospect is rising quickly and has been tabbed as a top-250 prospect per the On3 rankings in the class of 2023.

KSR spoke with the 6-foot-1 defensive back and confirmed Jackson’s interest in the Wildcats. Second-year assistant Collins is handling the recruitment of Jackson, and the prospect will make the trip to Lexington on June 14 for an unofficial visit. However, multiple stops are occurring during this important recruiting period.

Georgia recently offered Jackson, and the Bulldogs just hosted the prospect for an unofficial visit on May 21. The defensive back informs KSR that he will take official visits to Penn State (June 10) and Tennessee (June 24) this summer. The recruitment is heating up, but Kentucky is in a good spot.

Getting Ja’Keem Jackson on campus could go a long way for the Kentucky coaching staff as the program looks to continue its pitch for the intriguing cornerback. That position remains a spot of need for the program as Collins is starting to make some real recruiting noise in the SEC footprint.
